Bellevue found itself looking for a new superintendent months after surrounding districts had started similar searches and targeted top candidates. A search process was developed to involve the public and choose a new leader. The School Board wanted a process that would allow the public to engage if they desired, and complete transparency. After Superintendent Dr. Tim Mills was hired, a proactive process was developed to introduce the new leader. The entry plan process, created and developed by Jacque Coe, consisted of more than 40 one-on-one meetings with 90 key stakeholders in four fast-paced weeks to develop personal, direct relationships with the new superintendent. The process gave the new leader a fast onboarding process and stakeholders a chance to give direct input, before any controversies could arise. These relationships continue to build, in part due to a positive initial outreach.
