Fundraising for the Alliance for Education faced a distinct hurdle; how to communicate the work of the agency in a powerful way, while being sensitive to a diverse range of stakeholders with a wide range of interests and perspectives about public education in Seattle.
The Development team needed materials that told the story to donors, in an economical but quality way. Using images and voices of those in the schools, the Alliance was able to share with prospective donors the impact of the agency has told through those who worked with the Alliance in the schools. Nowhere was that more clear that in the quarterly newsletters, produced in two color with a high quality look but not a penny more in cost. Auction materials for major donors were colorful and full of life, and paid off in the events, especially when donors delivered more than $1,000,000 in auction dollars for public schools.
